Music Morning

Outside Garden Opening Ceremony

We are delighted to advise you that our outdoor classroom has been officially opened by Mr Shewan, the Assistant Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police on Friday 30th June.  The classroom has been funded by the Awards for All Big Lottery Fund.  The school band played beautifully at the opening ceremony.  Thank you to everyone involved.

British Heart Foundation Fundraising

On Friday 9th June school held a non uniform day for ‘Wear it, Beat it’, British Heart Foundation along with lots of fundraising activities.  The children and staff had a wonderful day and we are delighted to inform you the total raised was £1278.16.  Thank you everyone for your wonderful support. Mission Day

On Monday 10th April, the GIFT team held a prayer and worship session in the hall. All the children came to visit the different prayer stations and spent time reflecting on the importance of Easter. It was a very prayerful and special morning in our school. Well done GIFT team for organising and delivering it so well.   Enjoy the slide show below.  (12.5.17)

 

Walk, Jog, Run — Fundraising

The children had a wonderful time on Thursday 6th April completing their Walk, Jog & Run sponsored event.  We hope to let you know what our total amount raised for St. Joseph's Penny/Caritas soon.  If you have not already sent in your child's sponsorship money, please can you do so asap.  Thank you.  We hope you enjoy a selection of pictures.  (12.4.17)

 

 

Red Nose Day

Thank you very much for your generosity on Red Nose Day on Friday 24th March.  We raised a wonderful £784.10 with red nose sales and a non-uniform day.  (30.3.17)

 

 

 

Google Expeditions Virtual Reality Day

On Thursday 2nd March, school had a very special visit from Google Expeditions led by their wonderful associate Daniel. Throughout the day the children were transported on virtual journeys linked to their curriculum topics.  The children visited places far and wide such as the Great Barrier Reef, Space, Volcanoes, Viking settlements and a Victorian warehouse. It was an immersive and fun day for all! We hope you enjoy the pictures and videos. (9.3.17)

 

 

 

Save The Children — Christmas Jumper Day

Thank you so much for your generosity on our last day before the Christmas holidays, we raised a wonderful £293.40 for Save The Children.  All the children and staff came into school with Christmas Jumpers on with a donation for this worthwhile cause.  They looked fantastic.  We also had a school carol concert, with a special song or two from the school choir with some very special visitors!! Advent — Prayer & Worship

On Friday 16th December, the GIFT held a prayer and worship session in the hall. All the children came to visit the different prayer stations and spent time reflecting on the importance of Advent. Steve Antony Visit

On Thursday 8th December, Key Stage 1 were lucky enough to have a visit from the author-Steve Antony.  He read us some of his stories and demonstrated how to draw certain characters from his book.  All the children thoroughly enjoyed his visit and were able to ask him lots of questions about his books.  (16.12.16)

 

 

Blunderbus

On Monday 5th December, KS1 and Reception enjoyed a fabulous show performed by Blunderbus Theatre Company. It was called "Santa’s Little Helper" and told the story of a young boy called Albert who didn’t like Christmas because he worried about the size of his presents. But one night, his mother secretly asked Santa to help Albert find his Christmas spirit so he could love Christmas again. Her wish came true and we watched with delight as Albert discovered the meaning of Christmas with some help from the characters he met along the journey.  We hope you enjoy the slide show below.  (14.12.16)

 

 

 

Christmas Fair

Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fair on Friday 25th November.  We raised a wonderful £2,400 for school funds.  The Mini Vinnies raised £120 for the Sudan Baby feeding programme, selling teddy bears,and the SVP raised a further £115 for the same cause. We had a visit from Father Christmas, as you can see from the slide show below everyone was delighted to see him.  (13.12.16)

 

 

 

 

Rec/Y6 — Teddy Bear's Picnic

To celebrate our work about bears, we enjoyed a Teddy Bears’ Picnic with our Special Friends and teddies from home on Friday 21st October. We had a snack and danced along to the song. (16.11.16)

 

 

 

 

'No Pens' Wednesday

On Wednesday the 12th October, the children took part in NO Pens Day Wednesday.  This is the schools 2nd year of making the children's Speech, Language and communication needs a priority for that day.    The Communication Trust encourage schools, for one day, to put down pens and pick up their language.  The children have enjoyed themselves and voted 97% in favour of the day.  Thank you from Mrs Harrison and Mrs Underhill.  Enjoy the pictures. Special Friends First Meeting …..

On Friday 16th September, our Reception children met their Y6 Special Friends for the first time in the hall. They talked about their families, what they liked to do and coloured in a picture together. It was a lovely get-together!  We hope to show more slide shows of their get-togethers in the future…..(27.9.16)
