Message from Head Teacher

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank and praise the PTA for their hard work so far this year.  The PTA is made up of a small number of committed volunteers, who work hard to raise invaluable funds for school.  Each year about £5,000 is raised and spent on projects that benefit school and the children.  The PTA would like me to explain that attendance at meetings is not a requirement, but if any parents could help at events, it would be much appreciated.  Please contact the school office if you are able to offer your services.  Mr. S. Callaghan  - 4.11.15“

Information

Our PTA is made up of parents who meet once a month with the aims of raising money for school funds, involving parents in school life and promoting a ‘community spirit’ based around school activities.

We try to organise fun events for your children, such as KS1 and KS2 discos and at the same time raise funds to purchase equipment or provide facilities that otherwise could not be funded by the school. For example in 2010 we provided a state of the art  digital projector and electronic projector screen in the school hall, which is used for assemblies and various parental meetings. We also funded skipping workshops for the whole school which was a huge hit. Previous contributions to school have included the electronic library system, the extensive portable staging system, leavers  disco and t-shirts for Y6 leavers all signed by their classmates, the potting shed and tools,  and one of the large containers in the main playground, which provides storage for lots of sports equipment, to name a few.

We now  meet in school, on the first Tuesday of each month during school time at 6.30pm in the staff room.   Contact: ptastvincents@gmail.com   or contact the school office 01706 642469

We currently have 15 parent members; not all attend the meetings but regularly help out at events.

We would love to increase this number to enable us to host bigger & better events, and also to replace those parents who have left as their children have gone onto high school.

We would urge you to support the efforts of the PTA, whether through: -

  • attending our very informal meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month

  • supporting events and fund raisers

  • offering to help at functions, eg the Christmas Fair and the Summer Sports Day

  • donating prizes.

You can help by sizzling a few sausages, selling some sweets, making some tea/coffee,  just half an hour of your time would be greatly appreciated.

You do not have to attend the meetings as we appreciate it can be difficult, we value the added input whenever  you can and make sure you are kept up to date when you can’t be there.

We value all the support we receive, knowing we have an extra pair of hands is a huge help, either in the run up to or at the actual event.
