  • Year 5 - BINGO Friday 23rd March 2018

    It is non uniform tomorrow for Sports Relief. Can we ask Year 5 pupils along with your donation for this great cause please can you bring in 50p for one go on BINGO for St. Joseph's Penny, or £1.00 for 3 goes. Thank you for you wonderful support Year 5.
  • CARITAS Non Uniform Days

    We have a KS1 'Caritas' Fundraising Day - Non Uniform on Friday 13th April. Your child can wear World Book Day outfit if desired.
  • School Reading Challenge

    As a school we have completed our first week of our reading challenge. We have joined many schools up and down the country in the ‘100 million minutes reading challenge’. In our first week as a school we have managed to read 57,824 minutes. This is fantastic! After the first day, St Vincent’s were ranked 500 out of 526 schools. After our first week, we have managed to move up to position 230 out of 526 schools!!! Remember to record the number of minutes you have read each night in your reading record. The more you read the better chance we have of winning the competition……£5000 to spend on books for our school. Well done boys and girls, keep going!
  • St Vincent's PTA - Fundraiser — Saturday 21st April

    St Vincent's PTA - Fundraiser — Saturday 21st April. Come and watch "The Remnants" at the Rochdale Rugby Union Football Club, Moorgate Ave, Rochdale OL11 5LU at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are £5.00 each and you can purchase these from the school office. All profits will go to School Funds. Our next PTA meeting is on Tuesday 10th April at 6:30pm in the staff room. If you know anyone whose interested please bring them along.
  • Class 2V - Mrs. Hamer

    I would like to inform parents that Mrs Hamer will be leaving St Vincent’s this Easter. Mrs Hamer has been at St Vincent’s for almost 20 years and in that time has provided a high level of education and care to all the children she has taught. I am sure you will join me in thanking her for all the dedication, commitment and support she has shown whilst at St Vincent’s and in wishing her the very best for the future. During the Summer term, the children in 2V will be taught by Mrs Hilton.
  • Before/Aftercare Extension of Opening Hours

    The school Governors have approved a decision to trial the extension of the opening times for both the Before and Aftercare clubs. Following the Easter holiday, the before care club will be available from 7.30am Monday – Friday and the aftercare club will be available up until 5.45pm Monday to Friday. This trial period will commence on Monday 9th April and last for the whole of the Summer term.

Regional Final Football Competition - Blackburn

Regional Final Football Competition - Blackburn

Well done to the St. Vincent’s football team who represented Rochdale in the regional finals on Tuesday 20th March. The team got through the group stages to beat hosts Blackburn Rovers on penalties in the semi final and went on to play against Oldham in the final. The team got beat 1-0 so are the second best team in the whole of the north and the second best team out of 1180 school who competed in this competition. Well done you did everyone proud and it is the best accomplishment the school and Rochdale football club have achieved.

Jeff Rich — "Rocking All Over….St. Vincent's!"

On Wednesday 21st February the school 'rocked' with the sound of Status Quo as the bands ex drummer Jeff Rich gave a percussion workshop for the children. A presentation about the origins of the drum and how it has developed over the years was followed by a demonstration of his drumming skills. The children thought he was 'AWESOME'. All the children had the opportunity to accompany Jeff while he played.

Rochdale Music Festival

On Wednesday 7th March the school choir performed at Rochdale Music Festival and we were delighted to be awarded the trophy and 94 marks which gave us "Honours". We are now looking forward to performing in the rearranged Music for Youth event on Wednesday 28th March. Well done everybody!
