During the month of May, we think particularly about Mary, Jesus’ mother and our mother in heaven. Year 5 started May with a special assembly for the whole school about Mary and her life, and they asked all the school to wear something light blue every Friday in May.
In the Autumn Term, nearly 100 children from Key Stage 2 made BOB Boxes. As a result, we have raised a over £700 for CAFOD. Last week, the children decided to spend this money through the CAFOD World Gifts. They purchased a safe place for children to learn, teaching many children to read and trees for life. These will support many children and their families around the world who face challenging situations. We are very proud that the children raised so much money to help so many people and are living out the Pope's message to help our brothers and sisters around the world. Thank you.
On Friday March, some of our Year 5 children where trained to become a Caritas Ambassadors for our school. They will hold this post until the end of year 6. They learnt all about the different places and people that Caritas helps in the Salford. We wish them luck as Ambassadors and the work they will do in school.
